How to check in
Online check-in is available from home any time within 24 hours of your flight. You can then print off the boarding pass. At certain airports, you can go paperless by having an eBoarding Pass delivered to your mobile device. The Fly Delta app makes it easy to check in for your flight. Just download the app on your smartphone, and when it's time to check in, simply access it. It's free to download and always free to use in flight. You can check in using the kiosk, any time within 24 hours of your flight. Airport curbside is offered where you can check-in for your flight and check baggage – just pull up at the airport curb and the rest is easy.
Baggage Allowance and Fees
You can carry on one bag and one personal item, such as a handbag, at no extra charge. They should fit into the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you. Items such as a jacket or pushchairs do not count as personal items. The size restrictions on carry-on baggage are: no bag should exceed 45 inches or 114cm in combined length, width and height. You can tell Delta how many bags you will check in and pay any fees quickly and easily online within 24 hours of your departure. You can check bags at the airport kiosk, ticket counter, or curbside; however, higher checked baggage fees may apply if paid at the airport. Fees for the first and second checked bag varies based on your flight destination. To avoid extra charges for oversize or overweight baggage, your checked bag must: weigh 50 pounds (23 kg) or less and not exceed 62 inches (157 cm) when you total length + width + height. Each special item, such as medical or sporting equipment, checked in counts as one bag.
